Velodyne was founded in 1983 by Dave Hall with the goal of redefining low-frequency performance for home music and cinema systems. Through pioneering subwoofer technologies and patented designs, the brand became closely associated with the development of modern consumer subwoofers. In 2019, Velodyne entered a new phase under the ownership of German audio distributor Audio Reference, combining Californian engineering heritage with long-standing European hi-fi expertise.
