Description
Wharfedale DS-2 active speakers are hugely popular and excellent powered speakers, replacing the award-winning DS-1 and managing to improve on these to deliver even better sound-per-pound value. The master unit holds 30w (60w peak) of cutting-edge amplification and an aux input along with volume and pairing controls.
DS-2 Model
The DS-2s are based on the previous DS-1 model but utilises a new design to deliver even better value performance. The two way speakers are relatively compact in terms of bookshelf speakers standing at only 19cm tall with a width of 12cm. Designed to be positioned on a desktop or table, the speakers can be connected to your PC or smart device using aptX Bluetooth connection or the 3.5mm input.
Drive Units
The powerful 7.5cm mid/bass driver features a woven polypropylene cone and sits below the 2cm silk dome tweeter. Rear-firing ports are located at the back of the speakers facilitating great low frequency performance. One key difference that distinguishes the DS-2s from the DS-1s is the inclusion of metal grilles that protect the drive units.
Smart Look
DS-2s have an approachable aesthetic owuing to the curved cabinets and elegant high gloss finish in black (white is now discontinued). In addition to this, they now also feature smart leatherette side panels adding to their contemporary appeal.
