Description
The Tivoli Songbook Bluetooth Speaker System features a classic design along with modern sound. Analogue controls are provided for volume and EQ. Additionally, there are retro toggle switches that are used for on/off as well as amp and line.
Unusually this unit can also be used as a guitar amplifier. Notably, there is a built-in fold-down handle and a durable finish. Moreover, there is a Songbook Max version that has more features. Lastly, the high gloss colours make the speaker an ideal choice for any room or décor. Battery life is ten hours.
Quality drivers and a powerful amplifier
Two drivers feature in the Tivoli Songbook Bluetooth Speaker System. The 8.89 cm full-range driver is complemented by an 8.89cm woofer. Moreover, the amplifier is a 40-watt Class D unit. Battery life is ten hours. On the front is a three-slider equalizer. Class D amplifiers are used in portable speakers due to their efficiency. In fact, they have an efficiency of up to 90% and use less power than traditional liner amplifiers. Moreover, they generate less heat.
Good connectivity
Bluetooth can be used to connect a mobile device and there is an aux input for CD players or tape decks. Additionally, the front features an input for an instrument. This is switched by a front-mounted toggle switch. A built-in preamp is used for instrument playback.
Why a portable speaker system?
Traditionally portable radios were often taken to the beach or on holiday. However, nowadays most people use smartphones for listening to music on the go. As a result, Bluetooth speakers were developed to connect to a mobile device. As with the Tivoli Songbook Bluetooth Speaker System.
Moreover, the Songbook Max has a built-in FM and DAB radio. Next, the bugbear of portable devices was always having to change the batteries. However, the Tivoli Songbook Bluetooth Speaker System has a built-in ten-hour rechargeable battery.
