Description
Thorens TP82 is their new 9” Uni Pivot Tonearm that utilises innovative and traditional features for a tonearm that is rigid and maintains the perfect balance.
Uni-pivot Bearing
Thorens TP82 Uni-pivot Bearing utilises a conical carbide tip sitting within an arrangement of five small ball bearings to create its innovative, minimal-friction bearing system.
Arm Tube
The TP82 arm tube has been manufactured from cold-forged, eight-layer aluminium, the tube itself has had its resonances manipulated to target specific frequencies.
Headshell
The Thorens TP82 headshell has been reinforced with carbon fibre to provide an extremely high level of rigidity to reduce the amount the headshell is affected by unwanted vibrations.
Tracking force and VTA
The TP82 uses counterweights that can be rotated to adjust the tracking force of the tonearm. The weights are decoupled by means of rubber rings, the larger weight providing a rough adjustment while the smaller weight is used for the fine adjustments and also the azimuth. The vertical tracking angle (VTA) is easily changed by lowering or raising the tonearm after loosening the arm collar lock nut.
