Additionally, they have a seven-year warranty. System Audio's focus is sound quality, and the quality drivers make music come alive. There is a 1” tweeter, a midrange unit, and two woofers. The frequency range is wide at 30Hz to 25kHz. Lastly, the maximum power handling is 300 Watts
1” Signature DXT tweeter with acoustic lens
An in-house designed 1” Signature DXT tweeter is fitted to the System Audio Signature 40 Speakers. The tweeter features a DTX acoustic lens that provides a wide dispersion. This avoids having a sweet spot that is too small.
Tweeters provide high frequencies and these tend to be directional. As a result, speakers have a certain listening position where the sound is balanced across the frequency range. Waveguides and acoustic lenses are used to widen this listening area.
Two woofers for stunning bass
The System Audio Signature 40 Speakers have two 5.5” signature 5/16 woofers The woofers feature a light membrane that has a fast response for accurate reproduction. The two woofers work in conjunction with the bass port to produce stunning bass down to 30Hz.
5.5” midrange unit
The 5.5” midrange unit fitted to the System Audio Signature 40 Speakers provides clear dialogue with movies. A separate midrange unit removes some of the work from the woofers and can enhance vocal performances.
A quality crossover
The crossover in the System Audio Signature 40 Speakers splits the audio into three bands. Each band is fed to the individual drivers. In a crossover Capacitors and inductors are used to form filters. The tweeter is fed from a high-pass filter, while the midrange is fed from a bandpass filter. Lastly, Quality polypropylene capacitors are used. This modern material will last for many years.
Why floor-standing speakers?
Floor-standing speakers do not normally need stands. Moreover, the size of the cabinet tends to give a greater bass output. Additionally, the System Audio Signature 40 Speakers feature a bass port. Bass ports work by adding air mass.
This extra air resonates at a certain frequency boosting the bass. This is known as tuning. Moreover, sound from the rear of the woofers is used. This makes the system more efficient. Lastly, small speakers often need a subwoofer while floor standers do not.
