Description
The Ruark Audio R610 Music Console All-In-One System is a very highly specified device with a vast array of streaming and input options. It is inspired by music centres of the 1970s but with all new electronics. Streaming capability is good and there is a phono input for MM cartridges as well as a DAB and FM tuner.
The system is paired with another iconic name in the Sabre R Bookshelf speakers. To take advantage of HD audio the frequency response is 22Hz to 22kHz. Additionally, this all-in-one unit comes with the Sabre R speakers, also available separately. The R610 can also be bought on its own. The sabre-R is a two-way unit with a powerful motor system and a resonance-free cabinet.
Ease of use and a Bluetooth remote
The Ruark Audio R610 Music Console All-In-One System has a 1970s look but with a modern sound. Tactile soft touch buttons and a large weighted control dial make the unit easy to use. Moreover, there is a Bluetooth remote and a large colour display confirming every command and displaying album artwork.
High-powered Class D amplifier
A 75 Watts per channel Class D amplifier is fitted to the Ruark Audio R610 Music Console All-In-One System. Class D is almost 90% efficient and makes it possible to have a high output in a small unit. Less heat is generated making the sound natural as well as dynamic.
Class D is a digital system where the output consists of a series of high-frequency pulses. Additionally, a switching power supply is used. These are also highly efficient with a well-regulated output. No large transformer is needed and the PSU is well shielded.

The DAC forms the heart of modern systems and the Ruark Audio R610 Music Console All-In-One System has atop-of-the-line Burr-brown type fitted. Additionally, the powerful CPU can decode HD audio, and streaming services such as Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect, and Apple Airplay are built in. You can also listen to podcasts and internet radio.
Good connectivity
Analogue playback is not forgotten with the Ruark Audio R610 Music Console All-In-One System. There is an MM input for a turntable as well as HDMI with eARC. eARC connects the sound from your TV and also allows you to control the volume with your TV remote. A DAB and FM radio is also built in. Lastly, there is also a USB socket for connecting to a PC or CD drive.
Sabre R speakers
The Ruark Audio R610 Music Console All-In-One System comes with a new version of the sabre-R speakers. These iconic speakers were first released around 40 years ago and some are still going strong. The speakers feature a two-way bass reflex design with a 15cm treated paper cone woofer and a 26mm silk dome tweeter.
The voice coil has four layers and there is a long throw motor system. Next, the cabinet is made of MDF and is well-braced to prevent resonances. The maximum amplifier power is 100 watts and the finish is furniture grade. Lastly, the binding posts are gold plated and there is a removable magnetic grille.
