Description
The Q Acoustics 3030c Speaker is the largest stand-mounted speaker in the “C” range. It has outstanding performance with a continuous coned bass/midrange unit. This 3rd generation speaker also has a hermetically sealed tweeter.
The seal has the effect of reducing distortion and interference. The continuous cone of the bass/midrange unit also integrates more effectively with the tweeter. Lastly, the luxurious curved cabinet uses Q Acoustics' proprietary P2P Bracing for a resonance-free experience.
Continuous cone bass/mid-driver
There is a continuous curved coned driver in the Q Acoustics 3030c Speaker. The cabinet design reduces standing waves and colouration. The cone profile combines the best properties of a straight cone with those of a flared cone.
A large amount of research went into refining the shape to create improved dispersion as well as a well-controlled frequency response. Moreover, the bass extension is improved and the damping is designed to be good enough to allow placing close to a wall.
Hermetically sealed tweeter
The tweeter in the Q Acoustics 3030c Speaker is hermetically sealed. Moreover, mechanical isolation has the effect of preventing internal pressure modifications. There is also a vented rear chamber. As a result, distortion is reduced and the crossover point is lowered. Consequently, the integration with the bass/midrange units is improved.
Point-to-point braced cabinet
The beautiful curvaceous shape of the Q Acoustics 3030c Speaker has no visible joins or fixings. Moreover, it uses Q Acoustics proprietary P2P point-to-point bracing. This connects the parts of the cabinet most prone to resonances and creates a very rigid structure. As a result, the focus and stereo imaging are improved
Why stand-mounted speakers?
The Q Acoustics 3030c Speaker can be used in small to medium-sized rooms. It is the largest stand mounter but will not dominate the room. Moreover, it is not too big to be shelf-mounted. Bass performance is good but a subwoofer can be used as well.
Additionally, there is a centre speaker available that can be used to create a home cinema system. Stands tend to isolate the speakers from the floor. This makes them less boomy. Stands also reduce the chance of feedback between any turntable in use and the speakers.
Volume levels in larger rooms
Next is the required volume level, it is better to run larger speakers at medium sound levels rather than to overdrive smaller speakers. Lastly, what are you using them for? The Q Acoustics 3030c Speakers make great front speakers for a home cinema system.
While the smaller speakers in this range are good for the surround speakers. Lastly, there is also a specifically designed centre speaker that has the same design.
