Pro-Ject VC-E2 Compact Record Cleaning Machine

Pro-Ject VC-E2 record cleaning machine is an updated version of the original VC-E and has been improved in several ways to offer even better cleaning performance for your vinyl records. In comparison to the larger VC-S3, it is more compact and can easily be stored.

Perfect for cleaning used records, but even new records often need cleaning properly to enhance playback and prevent damage. Dry brushing before playing can remove surface dust. However, to properly get rid of grease and old dirt they need to be wet cleaned. In contrast to lesser cleaning methods, this is a great value but still premium solution for cleaning your records, with a robust construction and a large waste fluid collecting tank.

Wash It 2 Cleaning Fluid

Perfect cleaning requires the proper cleaning fluid. Alcohol based cleaners can partially dissolve the vinyl resulting in a loss of detail. As a result, Pro-Ject developed their own non-alcohol based fluid named “wash It 2”. This is a premixed liquid that does not need diluting. It uses distilled water so that the impurities in tap water do not leave a residue. Pro-Ject’s own wash it 2 fluid (included) optimises the cleaning performance and can clean a record in two revolutions.

Magnetic Clamp

The magnetic clamp holds the record securely. Moreover, it completely covers the label to protect it from damage. It also makes it faster to clamp the record with no tedious screw clamp to close. The VC-E2 is built with a long life in mind. The robust metal arm is mechanically stable and aims all of the suction power onto the record for a deep clean. Additionally, the self-adhesive arm strip ensures a good seal.

Large Fluid Tank

The built in internal tank can hold 0.5 litres of used fluid and is easy to empty. With Wash It 2 fluid there is also evaporation. This means that the tank will need emptying less often. Why Clean? Static Charge

Records become statically charged from the factory. As a result dust and debris are attracted to the surface. Any grit in the groove can irreparably damage the playing surface. Resulting in skips and jumps. Even new records can be covered in dust from the packing material. Older records will be covered in dust from the previous owner as well as greasy fingerprints. These can be difficult to remove without a wet cleaner. Finally a release agent is used to release the record from the press. This can stay in the grooves and mask detail.
