Description
The Pro-Ject DAC Box E is an easy-to-use entry-level DAC. The unit offers a simple upgrade path for devices with an optical or coaxial digital output. HD music support is built-in and it is easy to upgrade the sound from CD players or Blu-ray players.
The built-in DAC in budget CD players is often of poor quality. Moreover, you can enjoy HD sound from streaming services such as Tidal, by using a PC or laptop that has an optical or coaxial audio output.
HD music support
HD music can be played through the Pro-Ject DAC Box E. The D/A converter supports HD music at up to 24/192kHz. Moreover, the DAC chipset will far outperform most built-in DACs. For example those on a laptop or PC. Streaming services such as Tidal provide HD music.
Upgrade your CD player
Even budget CD players usually have a digital output as do DVD and Blu-ray players. The Pro-Ject DAC Box E offers a simple upgrade. It can also be used with set-top boxes to boost your movie and TV experience.
Only quality components are used and the output has a low impedance. This means that cable noise pickup and interference are reduced. The unit also uses an external PSU that further reduces interference.
Why an external DAC?
The main reason for using an external DAC is sound quality. The sound circuits in a laptop or cheap CD player are not optimized for HD music if they can play it at all. You are missing out on a lot of detail in the source. The Pro-Ject DAC Box E has a line-level analogue output that connects to the input of an amplifier, preamp, or active speakers.
