Description
Primare SPA25 is a hi-end, audiophile 9 channel cinema amplifier. Powerful UFPD2 amplifier technology is complemented by a simple and elegant black or titanium casing. With 100W per channel and Dolby Atmos processing, this a hugely capable amplifier for purists, designed to sound as good with music as multi channel audio. Additionally, comprehensive connectivity is included along with built in Prisma network player.
Power Amplifiers and Sound Processing
The SPA25 features nine channels with a power of 100w each and will provide top performance with home cinema systems. The Unit uses UFPD2 (Ultra Fast Power Device) Class D amplification. Sound processing uses the latest Dolby Atmos / DTS X processor along with the active room correction software, Direc Live EQ. Additionally as you'd expect it includes multiple HDMI inputs with 4K HDR switching and eARC.
Dolby Atmos
Dolby Atmos provides a multidimensional sound experience. Not only are there front and rear channels, but height channels. Objects, such as aircraft, can be positioned anywhere in the sound field, including above the listener. This is known as object based sound, and gives an all encompassing and immersive experience. The SPA25 features right and left heigh channels. DTS X is another object based sound processor that does not need high channels. It can also provide a more immersive experience.
Direc Live EQ
SPA25 includes Direc Live EQ, an active room correction system. That corrects the acoustics of your listening area. Your room may make a cinema amplifier sound different to what it sounded like in the store. Furnishings may absorb certain frequencies while exaggerating others. This can cause boomy bass or too much treble. You can also get a muddled sound stage. The normal way of fixing this is with expensive acoustic panels. However With the Direc live system, a microphone near the listening position, actively monitors the frequency response, adjusting it, and evening it out, leading to a much more accurate listening experience.
Excellent Connectivity
The SPA25 includes excellent connectivity with four HDMI inputs and two outputs. All the HDMI connections can handle 4K HDR pass through. There is also a microphone socket for the Dirac Live EQ system as well as a USB B input for a PC or Mac. Optical and coaxial ports are covered, plus a bank of multichannel RCA inputs can be used. The speaker output terminals are gold plated and can take, 4mm banana plugs, spades or bare wires.
Prisma network player
SPA25 also includes Primare's excellent Prisma network player. This enables you to access hi-end streaming services with no additional units being required. Control your streaming services with a smartphone app or the new supplied remote control. High resolution services such as Qobuz, Spotify and Tidal HIFI are all available. Additionally, you can control network hard drives with the Prisma App. Volume, mute, standby and input selection are also available on the app.
