Description
This is the CXN Network Audio Streamer V2 version with a faster processor for an improved Internet radio experience and a greater level of playback control. With mpeg-DASH and HLS compatibility, the CXN V2 gives you the best of Internet radio. BBC radio stations will sound better with this streamer when available at 320 kbps.
The CXN V2 puts sound quality as its focus. Employing twin Wolfson WM8740 DACs (Digital to Analogue Convertors), therefore each channel has a DAC to process its own channel information. Having twin DAC's ensures a precise and accurate sound reproduction with improved stereo imaging. Combined with the 2-Pole Dual Differential Bessel filter, the DACs ensure the CXN has fantastic levels of clarity and transparency in the sound.
With UPnP (Universal Plug n' Play) compatibility it is quite easy to connect the CXN V2 to your home network and stream from a NAS drive, hard drive, or stored on a PC or laptop. The CXN V2 can process a wide range of files, including many in High-Resolution. ALAC, WAV, FLAC, AIFF, WMA, MP3, AAC, HE AAC, AAC+ and OGG Vorbis are supported, ensuring the CXN is a very flexible streamer.
The CXN V2 supports over 20,000, Internet radio stations, with the CXN V2 being compatible with the most popular music streaming services. Spotify, the world’s most popular streaming service, is built-in with Spotify Connect(requires Spotify Premium account). If you are a subscriber to Spotify Premium, you can control the Cambridge with the Spotify Connect app on your smartphone or tablet. The CXN V2 also supports BBC iPlayer Radio, Aupeo! Pandora and Rhapsody.
The CXN ca stream over LAN, Wi-Fi and USB, however, it is also compatible with Apple's AirPlay 2. Therefore, you can use an iPhone, iPad or Mac and wireless stream your iTunes library or other compatible music services.
With the built-in digital pre-amp output oyu can easily add active speakers via the digital or analogue outputs and you will be able to control the volume and balance from the CXN V2.
This streamer has four USB interfaces, the front socket is prefect for connecting a USB memory stick. On the rear, a further two interfaces are for more permanently connected devices. A Type-B asynchronous USB input gives direct connection to your PC or Mac. The Type USB unput is the ideal connection for connecting a computer, as it effectively 'controls' the PC's output for the best sound possible, and with reduced jitter.
Optical and coaxial digital sockets are fitted for inputs and outputs. Therefore, you can connect other digital components and take advantage of the quality DAC in the CXN V2. You could also connect the CXN V2 to your AV receiver or digital stereo amplifier. Analogue phono outputs are also included.

The casing on this streaner is rigid crafted from metal with a low-resonance design, the casing helps to shield the player from both mechanical and electrical interference, which helps to improve the musical clarity and reduce any background noise. The isolating feet also help to adsorb external vibrations.
