Description
The PMC Twenty5.21i Active Speakers are the most compact in the Active twenty5 range. However, they pack a punch with 2 x 100-watt Class D amplifiers. They are also easy to use. Just connect a preamplifier or streamer with a volume control to make a fine music system.
PMC has also developed an advanced Transmission Line bass system that significantly boosts the bass output. The bass unit is a 140mm, long throw G weave unit while the tweeter features a 34mm ferrofluid cooled domed driver. The low-frequency response goes as low as 46 Hz.
Powerful Class D amplification
An active crossover is used by the PMC Twenty5.21i Active Speakers along with two 100-Watt Class D amplifiers. Each amplifier drives the bass unit and tweeter directly. Class D amplifiers work in the digital domain right up to the drivers.
As a result, noise is reduced and the efficiency is close to 90%. Class D amplifiers are often used in confined spaces as they generate less heat and use less power than class A/B units.
Exceptional bass response with ATL bass loading
PMC has developed an Advanced Transmission Line bass loading system. This provides the bass output similar to a much larger system. A transmission line system features a bass driver connected to a long tunnel. The tunnel is lined with sound-absorbing materials.
The absorbent materials remove any mid and high frequency sounds from behind the speaker. The sound is then fed to the outside world via a front-facing grille. As a result more bass is emitted from the grille in phase with the bass driver, creating a bass-rich sound.
Maximum musicality
The PMC Twenty5.21i Active Speakers are good for small to medium-sized rooms. they present detailed and accurate bass along with realistic mids and delicate highs. They have great musicality and can be stand or shelf-mounted. Moreover, they make good surround speakers for home cinema systems. Connectivity is simple with just a single RCA or XLR balanced input.
Using the PMC Twenty5.21i Active Speakers
Each speaker has the same inputs. For the best noise performance use a Balanced XLR lead from the left and right outputs of a high-end preamplifier. You can also use a streamer that has a volume control. Moreover, the speakers can be used as PC speakers, on a desk, as they are only 34cm tall.
