Description

Mission’s LX4 MKII is a floorstanding speaker that’s apart of the upgraded MKII series; it’s the smallest floorstanding speaker of the range standing at 90cm. The upgraded MKII range has revised features and has been designed with technology based on the QX range and Mission’s flagship ZX range. Mission’s entry-level speaker still remains at an entry-level price but has a much better quality.

The LX MK 2 Range

The LX Mk2 range is the revised new range from Mission that replaces the older LX Mk1 range. It still remains as Mission’s entry-level range for home-cinema speakers but has hugely been improved and is heavily focused on Mission’s high-end ranges. This is a great choice if you want a high-quality entry level speaker.

LX MK2’s ‘comb tooth’ Serrations

The mid/bass drivers are surrounded with ‘comb tooth’ serrations, designed to scatter the reflections of the sound coming off the cone and its surround, resulting in a purer sound delivery.

Despite having three drivers the mid and bass drivers work in parallel, as this is a two-way speaker. The mid/bass woofers are both a 5” inches and made of composite fibre, they produce a powerful low and mid range. This is combined with a 25mm microfibre dome tweeter with a neodymium magnet, which is said to sound clear, dynamic and detailed. The microfibre dome was chosen for its lightweight material.

LX4 Mk2 Maximum dispersion

The drivers are located in a way to promote better audio dispersion and to deliver audio to your ears in a specific way that better helps your sound experience. Like on the smaller models, IDG design (inverted driver geometry) flips the tweeter and the woofer positions so they’re ‘upside down’ to keep the high frequencies at ear height. On the LX4, however, the tweeter is placed in-between the two woofers but premise is the same, to keep high’s at ear height.

The LX4 Mk2 Look

The LX4 MKII comes in three colours, just like the rest of the LX Mk2 range; these are Walnut Pearl, Lux Black and Lux White. These stylish finishes were all chosen by Mission in their attempt to fuse Hi-Fi heritage with contemporary design.
