Description
The Klipsch Three Plus Wireless Speaker is larger than the One Plus and has a wider range of inputs including a phono input and a digital optical input. This latest version has two 2.25” full-range drivers and a larger high excursion 5.25” woofer. The sound is remarkable for such a small unit, with warm and rich bass. Lastly, the walnut veneer or black cabinet has a retro look but will fit with any décor. Battery life is up to 12 hours on a single charge.
The High excursion woofer provides a punchy sound
The high excursion, long throw, woofer in the Klipsch Three Plus Wireless Speaker, is driven by its own amplifier as are the full range drivers. Moreover, this bi-amplified unit has two 2.25” full-range drivers that deliver a clean and punchy sound.
Long-range Bluetooth and other connectivity
The Klipsch Three Plus Wireless Speaker is equipped with Bluetooth 5.3 technology. Notably, the range is up to 40 feet, and this should prevent any dropouts or signal loss, even in the largest rooms. Bluetooth is used to connect to mobile devices such as Smartphones and tablets.
However, this unit can also be used with an MM turntable. Notably, there is an RCA input that can be used either for the turntable or a line-level signal. Unusually for a portable speaker, there is also a digital optical connection for a CD player. Lastly, there is a USB connector for connecting an external hard drive and charging the unit.
Take control with the Klipsch Connect app
Klipsch provides an app that can be used to control the Klipsch Three Plus Wireless Speaker. The Klipsch Connect app has a three-band equalizer and can store your favorite presets, it will also take firmware updates over the air. The app can be installed on Apple and Android devices.
Use as a charging station
Another use for the USB-C port is as an emergency recharging station for your Smartphone. Moreover, the Klipsch Three Plus Wireless Speaker will be recognized as a soundcard without needing a driver, when plugged into a PC. Finally, up to 10 other Klipsch speakers can be connected in broadcast mode.
Why a portable speaker?
Portable speakers such as the Klipsch Three Plus Wireless Speaker are small enough to carry around and can be used indoors or out. Bluetooth can be used to pair the device with a smartphone, you can then stream from online services such as Spotify or listen to podcasts, radio stations, and talking books.
Also, in an emergency, the speaker can be used to charge your smartphone. Additionally, they have no trailing wires. The Klipsch Three Plus Wireless Speaker also has particularly good connectivity.
