Description
The Klipsch Core 200 3.1.2 Soundbar is larger than the Core 100, at 44” wide. It also has Dolby Atmos upward-firing speakers. Improve your movie and gaming experience with punchy bass and clear dialogue. Two full-range 2.5” drivers are complemented by two built-in 4” woofers.
Additionally, there are two upward-firing 2.25” drivers as well as two centre speaker drivers and a tweeter. There is also a connection for an external woofer. The unit can be placed on furniture or mounted to the wall. Lastly, the Klipsch Connect app makes control easy.
Tuned sound By Onkyo and Klipsch
Japanese manufacturer Onkyo provides the sound processing chips used in the Klipsch Core 200 3.1.2 Soundbar. Moreover, the sound was fine-tuned using Klipsch's know-how. There are a multitude of speaker drivers in the unit.
This provides a full Dolby Atmos experience with no trailing wires. The left and right channels are provided by two 2.5” drivers. There are also two 4” subwoofers that deliver stunning bass. Additionally, there is a centre speaker unit that has two drivers and a tweeter. Lastly, two upward-firing speakers bounce the sound of the ceiling.
Easy use with the Klipsch Connect app
The Klipsch Core 200 3.1.2 Soundbar is easy to control with the Klipsch Connect app. The app can be installed on IOS and Android devices. EQ settings are provided and there are settings for night mode and dialogue boost. Volume can be controlled from the app or via HDMI Arc and the TV remote. The Flexus sound system developed by Onkyo and Klipsch provides an optimal experience.
Good Connectivity
Connecting to your AV equipment is easy with the Klipsch Core 200 3.1.2 Soundbar. Firstly there is an HDMI connector with ARC. This will connect your TV sound. Additionally, there is digital optical in as well as USB C. Next there is an RCA output for feeding to a subwoofer. Lastly, you can connect via Bluetooth and stream music or podcasts from your phone.
Why a soundbar?
Flat-screen TVs are not renowned for good sound. Therefore a soundbar will vastly improve your movie and gaming experience. Multiple speakers are placed in the same unit so there are no trailing wires. Additionally, the unit can act as a Bluetooth speaker for listening to music, Podcasts, and online radio stations. The Klipsch Core 200 3.1.2 Soundbar is 44” wide and best used with larger TVs.
Placing a soundbar
The Klipsch Core 200 Dolby Atmos Soundbar can be mounted on a unit under the TV screen. However, the upward-firing speakers need to be able to bounce sound off the ceiling, so should be kept clear of obstructions. The unit can also be wall-mounted above or below the screen. Ideally, the soundbar should be at ear level. This ensures that the sound will appear to be coming from the screen.
What is virtualized Dolby Atmos?
Virtualized Dolby Atmos, as used by the smaller Core 100, does not need upward-firing speakers. It creates the Surround effect electronically. This is good if the listening room ceiling is high or has absorbent ceiling tiles. On the other hand, the Klipsch Core 200 3.1.2 Soundbar does have upward-firing speakers and needs a flat celling between 7.5 and 12 feet high.
What is Dolby Atmos?
Dolby Atmos is a multi-channel sound system that was originally developed for Cinemas. It can have up to 17 channels. These include ceiling, side, and rear speakers. Normally complex AV receivers are used. However, soundbars achieve the same effect by using angled speakers.
