Description
The JBL Stage XD5 Outdoor Speakers are designed for use in the garden or patio and have an IP67 waterproof rating. The bass driver is a 130mm polypropylene coned unit and the tweeter is a 25mm aluminium domed device. The design is stylish and the mounting allows for flexible placing. Moreover, the design of the waveguide provides a clear and accurate sound. The maximum power handling is 100 Watts. Lastly, the speaker terminals are rubber-sealed.
All weather drivers
The two drivers are made of quality waterproof materials. The 130mm bass unit has a Polypropylene Graphite Filled Cone. Moreover, the tweeter has an aluminium dome, an acoustic lens, and HDI™ waveguide. The waveguide helps with the dispersal of high-frequency sounds.
Grilles and outdoor speakers
The JBL Stage XD5 Outdoor Speakers have magnetically attached grills with no bezel and the logo can be rotated for horizontal or vertical placement. They can be wall-mounted or stand-mounted. They are also small enough to be unobtrusive. The amplifier needs to be kept in a dry location and the outdoor speaker cable is of a special type.
The gauge of the wire should be matched to the speaker's impedance and the run's length. In other words, longer runs have a higher resistance, as does thinner wire. The cable should be “direct burial” or “in wall rated”.

JBL is an American company and they were founded in 1946 by James B Lancing. JBL is renowned for its range of indoor and outdoor speakers. They also make a range of Bluetooth waterproof outdoor speakers. In the 1970s JBL was known for its studio monitors and professional speakers. The professional range includes architectural speakers that can be built into walls and ceilings.
