Description
The HiFi Rose RA280 Integrated Amplifier delivers a refined listening experience through cutting-edge amplifier technology and thoughtful design. Built with musical integrity at its core, the RA280 blends a powerful internal architecture with intuitive user controls. Its elegant industrial styling, dual VU meters, and tone control dials lend it a timeless aesthetic that fits seamlessly into any contemporary hi-fi setup.
Available in a sleek black finish, the amplifier’s high-quality aluminium chassis provides excellent shielding from interference while adding structural rigidity. Top-mounted vents not only enhance visual appeal but also improve thermal regulation. This integrated amplifier doesn’t just look good, it’s built for high-performance audio in both form and function, offering a premium, tactile experience in any setting.
Advanced Class AD Technology
At the heart of the RA280 is HiFi Rose’s advanced Class AD amplifier technology, representing a leap forward from traditional Class AB and Class D designs. Class D is known for its efficiency and output, but it often falls short in musical refinement. HiFi Rose bridges this gap by using Gallium Nitride FETs, which offer faster switching speeds and lower distortion than standard silicon-based alternatives.
This innovation dramatically improves accuracy and response time in the amplification stage, resulting in a more fluid and natural performance that mimics the feel of pure analogue amplification. This forward-thinking approach enables the RA280 to deliver high output without sacrificing warmth or musical nuance, setting a new benchmark for integrated amplifier design.
High Power Meets Subtle Control
Despite its sleek exterior, the RA280 packs serious power. Each channel houses a separate 250W module—delivering 500W total system power, making it well suited to drive even power-hungry speakers. The amplifier also incorporates a HiFi Rose-designed two-stage LC analogue filter, maintaining superior frequency response with minimal distortion.
This design minimises high-frequency noise typically found in Class D circuits, allowing for clean, extended highs and rich midrange clarity. Additionally, front-panel tone controls provide ±15dB adjustment at 100Hz and 10kHz, enabling you to fine-tune the audio profile to your taste or room acoustics. The built-in MM phono stage enhances turntable playback with distortion-free performance, making the RA280 ideal for vinyl lovers as well.
Flexible Connectivity and Power Precision
The RA280 is as versatile as it is powerful, offering a range of inputs including one balanced XLR, three unbalanced RCA inputs, and a dedicated MM phono input. Outputs include speaker terminals, a subwoofer output, and trigger connections, ensuring compatibility with modern hi-fi ecosystems.
The amplifier’s advanced power supply, derived from the flagship RA180 model, employs Silicon Carbide FETs and a 2.5kW class PFC circuit for efficient, responsive energy delivery. High heat resistance and stable voltage handling allow it to adapt to system demands without compromising sound quality. With a low-noise design and high-capacity condenser, the RA280 consistently delivers clean, controlled power, maximising performance across the entire system and preserving the purity of the original audio signal.
