Description
The Goldring GR3 is Goldring's first foray into turntables for 20 years. This mid-priced unit is fitted with the renowned Goldring E3 cartridge and has a built-in phono stage. Moreover, QED cables are supplied.
The high-mass resin platter resits speed variations and the elegant design features a piano black plinth with a clear dust cover. Lastly, a low noise, low vibration motor is fitted.
Pre-fitted with a Golding E3 cartridge
The Golding E3 cartridge comes pre-fitted to the Goldring GR3 turntable. This is a quality moving magnet design from a company famous for its cartridges. Moreover, the turntable comes with a phono preamp built in so you are ready to go with either an amplifier or powered speakers. Additionally, the cartridge is pre-aligned so no setup is required.
The Goldring E3 cartridge
The Golding E3 cartridge is a moving magnet type with an output of around 3.5 mV. The recommended tracking weight is 2 grams. Notably, the 0.3 x 0.7mm bonded elliptical stylus has superior tracking performance at high frequencies.
This tends to reduce sibilance on high-level vocal recordings. Moreover, high frequencies are also more detailed. Additionally, there is a dual magnet system that provides improved channel separation.
Low-vibration phenolic resin platter
The platter of the Goldring GR3 Turntable is made of phenolic resin which is a high-density plastic. This material resists vibration and provides a solid platform for the record. Moreover, the high mass has a flywheel effect that tends to resist speed variations. The motor is a 24V low noise low vibration type.
High-quality QED cables provided
There is a choice of quality QED cables with the Goldring GR3 turntable. This can be either a 1.5m phono-to-phono cable or a 3m phono-to-3.5 mm cable. The latter can be used to connect to a smart speaker or the input of a PC.
Elegant design
The minimalist elegant design has a high gloss black finish and a Perspex dust cover. Paired with the E3 cartridge and built-in preamp this makes the Goldring GR3 turntable a great choice for powered speakers.
