Description

The Gold Note CD-1000 MkII Deluxe CD-Player represents the refined expression of the 1000 Series CD platform, specified here in its Deluxe configuration. Housed in a beautifully finished brushed aluminium chassis, it integrates a high-performance digital stage with a meticulously engineered analogue output section in a single, elegant component.

Designed for serious high-end systems, it delivers a natural, detailed and authoritative presentation whether replaying compact discs or handling external digital sources. Gapless playback ensures uninterrupted musical flow, while the inclusion of coaxial and optical digital inputs allows connection to devices such as televisions or media players. The result is a versatile, reference-grade CD player that combines precision engineering with musical authenticity.

Deluxe DAC Architecture and Zero-Clock Technology

In its Deluxe specification, the CD-1000 MkII is equipped with the superior BurrBrown PCM1792A 24bit/192kHz digital-to-analogue converter. This advanced chipset is selected for its exceptional resolution, dynamic expression and tonal refinement, enabling the player to extract maximum information from every disc.

Gold Note’s proprietary Zero-Clock technology further enhances performance by effectively reducing jitter, preserving timing accuracy and maintaining the integrity of the digital signal. With a frequency response of 20Hz to 20kHz within tight tolerances, extremely low distortion and an impressive signal-to-noise ratio, the Deluxe model delivers clarity, scale and composure in equal measure.

A switchable digital volume control also allows direct connection to a power amplifier or active loudspeakers.

Precision Transport and Robust Construction

At the heart of the CD-1000 MkII Deluxe lies the aluminium JPL-2800 transport mechanism, engineered in Austria by Stream Unlimited. This high-precision loader is widely regarded for its mechanical stability and exceptionally low speed fluctuation, ensuring accurate data retrieval without loss of definition.

The rigid aluminium chassis and dual-mono power supply further contribute to low noise and consistent performance. Supporting Red Book CD, CD-R and CD-RW formats, the player maintains superb tracking and reliability. Analogue outputs are available via both unbalanced RCA and balanced XLR connections, complemented by a 75Ω S/PDIF digital output. Every element of its construction is designed to protect signal purity and deliver long-term reliability.

System Expansion and Upgrade Potential

The Gold Note CD-1000 MkII Deluxe CD-Player is conceived as a flexible centrepiece for ambitious audio systems. In addition to its coaxial and TOS optical digital inputs, it offers compatibility with Gold Note’s external upgrade components for further refinement.

The PSU-1250 and PSU-1000 super inductive external power supplies can enhance stability and dynamic expression, while the optional TUBE-1012 and TUBE-1006 Class A valve output stages introduce an additional layer of tonal richness and dimensionality.

Measuring 430mm wide, 135mm high and 375mm deep, and weighing 12kg, the CD-1000 MkII Deluxe combines substantial engineering with understated elegance, offering a sophisticated and enduring solution for discerning CD enthusiasts.
