Description
The Focal Aria Evo X No 2 Speakers are the most compact floorstanders in the Aria Exo X range. The sound is pure and precise with greater scale and depth thanks to two 16.5cm flax-coned bass units, paired with a 16.5cm midrange and Focal's M-shaped inverted dome tweeter.
The multi-vent system provides stunning bass and these are the ideal speakers for stereo systems in medium-sized rooms. The recommended listening distance is 10 feet, although of course this depends on room size. They are flexible for system matching with a recommended amplifier power of 40-250 Watts.
Three luxury finishes are available and spiked feet are provided.
Dynamic flax-coned woofers
The Focal Aria Evo X No 2 Speakers feature two Focal patented flax fibre coned bass units. A layer of flax is sandwiched between two layers of fibreglass to provide a light and rigid cone. The cone provides a neutral and natural sound.
Moreover, the lightweight cone provides good dynamics and it has a good dampening factor. This results in low colouration. Additionally, the flax-coned midrange unit provides an optimal midrange/treble transition for a very natural sound.
TAM tweeter
The Focal Aria Evo X No 2 features TAM tweeters. The ‘M’-shaped aluminium/magnesium inverted dome cone has a wide diffusion angle that is helped by the Urethane tweeter plate and waveguide. The result is treble with great definition and a good harmonic balance. The integration between the drivers gives a homogenous sound.
Power flow multi-port system
The bass reflex system of the Focal Aria Evo X No 2 speakers extends the bass down to 45Hz. The Powerflow multi-port has minimized dynamic compression for more impact. Moreover, the front-firing port is designed to prevent booming when placed close to a wall.
Tuned mass damper
The Focal Aria Evo X No 2 Speakers have a special type of surround. The surround supports the cone and joins it to the frame of the speaker. Focal uses a TMD (Tuned Mass damper) to improve the performance. Moreover, there is a harmonic damper. Harmonics are generated at multiples of the bass frequency and can cause distortion and colouration. These innovations make the sound more homogenized and clear.
The crossover
The crossover in a three-way speaker is more complex than for a two-way speaker, as it has to have a band pass filter for the midrange. Only the best quality components are used for a long life and flat frequency response. The crossover is made up of capacitors, inductors, and resistors. These have to be highly stable with regards to temperature. The components split the audio into bands for feeding to each driver.
Three sophisticated finishes
The Focal Aria Evo X No 2 Speakers come with a built-in aluminium alloy stand. The stand has height-adjustable spikes. Additionally, there are three luxury finishes available, High gloss black, Prime walnut, and High gloss moss green. The front panels feature a fine leather effect texture and magnetic grilles are included.
