Description
The Dali Rubikore 6 Speaker is the smallest of the floor standers in the Rubikore range. The speaker has two 6.5” double magnet, bass/mid drivers. There is also a low-loss dome tweeter paired with a planar magnetic tweeter.
The bass/mid drivers have a “Clarity Cone” along with a SMC magnet for a smooth midrange. The result is a natural and warm sound. Next, there is a continuous flare bass port for boosted bass. Maximum power handling is 200 Watts and the ribbon tweeter extends the high frequency range up to 34kHz.
New Clarity Cone drivers
Two “Clarity Cone” paper and wood fibre bass/mid drivers feature in the Dali Rubikore 6 Speaker. Moreover, the magnet assembly used Dali’s SMC material. This is a coated, magnetic granular material that can be formed into an optimized shape.
It has improved characteristics over iron magnets. The main advantage is the reduction of eddy currents. This smooths the frequency response. Additionally, non-linearity is reduced. Lastly, distortion and colouration are also decreased.
Low-loss dome tweeter
The Dali Rubikore 6 Speaker has a dual top-mounted tweeter assembly. This consists of a ferrofluid-cooled low loss dome tweeter and a planar magnetic tweeter. There is also a surrounding waveguide that improves high-frequency dispersion.
Ferrofluid is used to surround the voice coil and aids with heat dissipation when running at high volume. The planar magnetic, or ribbon tweeter extends the high-frequency response. Notably, the tweeters should be as close as possible to ear level for the best effect.
Why ribbon tweeters?
The planar magnetic tweeter, as fitted to the Dali Rubikore 6 Speaker, adds a new level of refinement and poise to the speaker's high-frequency performance. Ribbon units are much lighter than domed tweeters and have a higher level of acceleration.
As a result, they can respond to the shortest wavelengths. This creates an extended high-frequency response and improved detail. subtlest of wave formations.
Upgraded crossover
The crossover splits the audio frequency range into two bands for feeding to the mid/bass set of speakers and the tweeters. The Dali Rubikore 6 Speaker features upgraded SMC cored inductors. SMC is a granular magnetic material with improved audio characteristics such as reduced signal loss.
Moreover, the capacitors are long-life polypropylene types. Formerly a paper dielectric was used that deteriorated over time causing electrical leakage. The speaker also has a continuous flare bass reflex port for boosted bass. The flare reduces air turbulence.
Danish quality cabinets
The Dali Rubikore 6 Speaker is available in four beautiful finishes, high gloss white, high gloss black, natural walnut, and high gloss maroon. The cabinets are hand-assembled in Denmark using the finest materials and craftsmanship. Heavy Internal bracing prevents any resonances from colouring the output.
