Description
All new, sleek design
The Cyrus 40 Amp, Integrated Amplifier maintains the classic Cyrus half-width look with a sleek new design. The aluminium casing features a 5” high hi-resolution display and the new look fits in with today's modern décor. The electronics have been designed entirely by Cyrus and the latest DAC technology is used, with the ESS ES9039Q2M chipset being fitted.
This DAC takes musical accuracy to a new level. Moreover, the 100 Watts per channel amplifier can drive even more demanding speakers. Connectivity is good with six analogue inputs and an MM phono input. Additionally, there are coaxial, optical, and USB digital input options. Lastly, also available is a streamer, CD transport, and external power supply in the 40 Series.
100 watts per channel amplifier
The two 100-watt per channel amplifiers will drive even the most demanding speakers. The PSU is also overspecified, for dynamic and powerful music. Each stage has its own regulator. Moreover, the illuminated volume control is made of five parts and turned from solid aluminium. It has a good feel and positive movement.
Good connectivity
As well as four RCA analogue inputs there is a MM phono stage. The phono stage performance is excellent with low background noise and a high dynamic range. Moreover, there are two coaxial and one optical digital input. The USB connector can be used to connect a PC and there is an HDMI input for TV sound. Network connectivity is via Ethernet. Additionally, there is also a streamer in the 40 series. Speaker outputs are via proprietary plugs.
External power supply upgrade
The Cyrus 40 Amp Integrated Amplifier is fitted with a connector for the optional 40 series PSU. This upgraded PSU features its own microprocessor to communicate with the connected unit. This optimizes the output to match the current demand. Multiple supplies are provided on the multipin plug. The voltages are digitally controlled and very well-regulated. Noise levels are also very low.
New remote control
A newly designed remote control comes with the Cyrus 40 Amp Integrated Amplifier. This features the ability to auto-turn off the display. The remote is compact and matches the look of the main unit. The 5” display can be seen from across the room and indicates the source as well as other metadata.
CD player and streamer are also available
The 40 series from Cyrus also includes a top-of-the-line CD player and streamer. The CD player is slot-loading and uses a high-end ESS DAC. The servo system and power supply have also been optimized. The streamer includes many streaming services such as Spotify and Tidal. It is also easy to use with the BluOS operating system. All of the units have a matching modern black design.
Lastly for the ultimate upgrades, there is an external PSU that will plug into the back of all of the 40 Series units. Then the internal power supplies shut down removing any possible source of interference.
