Our last stocks of the Dali Oberon 5 speakers may have been taken out of the box, but are close to new condition, complete with the Dali warranty.

Oberon 5 is the ultimate performer; a compact and elegant floorstanding speaker housing dual 5¼” wood fibre based woofers with SMC and the series’ wide bandwidth 29mm ultra-lightweight soft dome tweeter.

This slim floor-stander will surprise with its ability to deliver a deep firm bass together with a clear and well-defined mid-range and airy high frequencies. Dali Oberon 5 is sure to impress with its lifelike reproduction of any music or film audio.

Patented SMC

SMC lowers mechanical distortion that is the product of hysteresis and eddy currents. Upgrades in the magnet motor mechanism lead to a reduction of third order distortion so the speaker can offer listening enjoyment over longer periods with a content midrange and remarkable quantity of detailing for the category. The magnet motor comprises of a huge ferrite magnet that encompasses a pole piece constructed from a unique mix of iron and SMC.

The iron ferrite create the base of the pole cylinder finished with 10mm SMC disc atop the pole element. This reduces the detrimental effects of the iron, while positioning the SMC disk in the center of the cheif workspace of the quad-layered voice coil. This enables optimum effect from the SMC on the voice coils for a substantially enhanced consistent flux field.

Low Loss Woofer

Oberon 5 hosts a set of 5.25" minor-loss woofers that are configured with an innovative wood-fibre build cone which is committed to reproducing the intricate midrange and bass frequency region with the same high quality as every other Dali-made driver. It is manufactured from a combination of fine grain paper pulp and further enhanced with wood fibres that produce a rigid, light-weight and dependable structure.

Together with the low-loss surround and spider suspension, this cone creates the minute details in the signal unfiltered and with superior accuracy. The membrane stops in a rubber surround employed for its soft and lithe properties granting the membrane liberal movement with ultra-low dampening effect, leaving the magnet motor to regulate the membrane motion.

Ultra-Light Tweeter

Made by Dali specifically for Oberon speakers, the 29mm super-light soft dome tweeter fuses acclaimed technologies from the brand's existing series with latest features. The huge size of the membrane allows the tweeter to produce higher sound pressure with lower excursion, retaining minimal voice coil movement. The oversized 29mm membrane is built on a light wave weave material and is further augemented for a greater bandwidth in the lower frequency region.

Optimal transference from the mid driver to the tweeter is assured leading to an even, unforced and highly coherent upper midrange. Like most soft dome tweeters, the Dali dome material is under half the weight (0.060mg/mm2). The tweeter front plate close to the dome is designed with geometry akin to the Opticon and Rubicon tweeters to produce the peak working situations for the soft dome. The goal is to merge an extended frequency response with broad dispersion and low saturation.

Easy Integration

Dali eases integration with your loudspeakers into any room. Both the materials and structure of the driver were selected to attain a broad dispersion pattern in the listening space. The same values have been applied to the crossover enabling a well-integrated sound, even when listening significantly off-axis.

An extra benefit is drastically lowered harmonic and frequency distortion, as this will always be greater in an on-axis response.

Danish Cabinet

The cabinet features an incredibly rigid build with solid bracings inside the cabinet for reinforcement. This underpins the rigidity and virtually eliminates removal within the cabinet. The housing is made from high-density CNC-made MDF board in carefully selected high-grade vinyl. To maximise timing, the speakers are attached with audio damping material along the edges. This produces a more straightforward contact between the woofer and bass port. The audible result is a more accurate bass and amplified ‘attack’ in the midrange. The bass ports are located on the back enhancing room integration by using the wall for enhanced bass performance. Oberon Series

Finish Options

Dali Oberon is available in a choice of Black Ash, White, Dark Walnut and Light Oak matched with a matte black or white front baffle. The rear mounted bass port guarantees maximum integration within the room and the stylishly shaped aluminium base gives the two floor-standing models a brighter look. An innovative front grille with rounded edges adds an airier and contemporary touch to the speaker series. As standard, a 'Mountain Grey' grille is supplied with the light finishes while Shadow Black is standard on the dark finishes.
