Description
The Bluesound Node Nano Streamer is a well-priced high-end music streamer and digital playback device. It features the flagship Sabre DAC for low-distortion playback. Many file types are supported including DSD and MQA. There is also a Quad-core Arm processor.
Streaming services such as Spotify and Tidal are available and the unit can play HI-RES files. The output is via a couple of RCA connectors, there is also an optical digital input, WIFI, and an Ethernet connector. Lastly, control is easy with the BLuOS app.
High end sabre DAC
The DAC in the Bluesound Node Nano Streamer uses a flagship ESS SABRE DAC chip with Hyperstream IV technology. Additionally, there is a Quad-core 1.8GHz ARM Cortex A53 processor, for smooth performance. The sound is designed to have ultra-low distortion and high dynamics. Additionally, The unit can stream formats such as FLAC, WAV, AAC, and MQA with superb clarity and precision.
Access many streaming services
The Bluesound Node Nano Streamer can access streaming services such as Spotify Tidal and Apple Airplay. You can also play podcasts and online radio stations. Moreover, if you have digital music files available on your home network you can play those via the BluOS app.
Go multiroom
If you own other Bluesound players you can use the Bluesound Node Nano Streamer as a hub and send music to other rooms. Additionally, you can control playback by using a phone, tablet, or desktop PC from any room. Multiroom means that you can send the same or different song to any room that has a Bluesound device in it.
Easy connectivity
The Bluesound Node Nano Streamer is small enough to go anywhere and can be connected to an amplifier or powered speakers via RCA connectors. There is also an optical digital input and USB. The optical input could be used for a CD player. Next, there is a coaxial output for connecting to an external DAC. A USB-C socket is used to connect power. Lastly, there is a trigger input and output so that the unit can control other devices.
Network connectivity
Network connectivity with the Bluesound Node Nano Streamer includes dual-band WIFI as well as an Ethernet connector. Next, a backlit touch panel is used for manual control and there are quick touch pre-sets. The unit will also integrate with home automation systems such as Control4.
Bonus features, DSD and MQA
The Bluesound Node Nano Streamer can play DSD files and will support DSD 256 via a future update. DSD is thought to be the closest digital format to analogue and is used BY SACD. DSD albums are also available from certain download sites, such as HDtracks. MQA decoding is also built into the Bluesound Node Nano Streamer.
MQA stands for Master Quality Assured and is normally only included in high-end units as it has to be licenced. MQA files are in a hi-res format and are guaranteed to be first-generation versions, taken from the master.
