Description
Atlas McCallum Isolator's are constructed using African Blackwood. They are designed to reduce mechanical vibrations and the amount of speaker cabinet energy coupling to the floor. They are suitable for use with small floorstanding and standmount speakers.
Developing the Isolator Plug
The Ultra plug has been carefully developed through extensive research into types of slow dried wood that can be used as insulation material. The use of slow dried wood provides the isolator with a lower dielectric constant than Teflon.
African Blackwood
The wood chosen for the construction of the McCallum Isolator is African Blackwood, which is one of the most absorbent and dense woods available, often used in woodwind instruments such as the Scottish bagpipe. Leading Scottish bagpipe producer McCallum collaborated with Atlas on the isolator, hence the name of this isolator plug.
