Description
ATC C1 Centre Speaker is the perfect upgrade path to outstanding surround sound and is designed to perfectly compliment ATCs entry series stereo speakers.
Performance
The high dynamic range enhances the excitement and impact of modern film soundtracks. The C1C offers outstanding vocal clarity and definition as well as excellent efficiency. 8 ohm nominal impedance offers an easy amplifier load. The centre speaker features a discrete, compact design for easy integration into a wide range of listening environments.
Design
C1C incorporates a new ATC designed and built 25mm soft dome HF unit with precision alloy wave guide. This is coupled with dual highly linear 125mm mid/bass units flanking it on either side.
This driver is exceptional for its horizontal dispersion of mid-band frequencies and a huge 3.5kg high-energy magnet system. There is massive FEA optimised motor assemblies with in-house, hand wound precision flat wire coils.
Crossovers
The new C1C incorporates new crossovers developed from the SCM7 and SCM11 designs, involving metallised polypropylene capacitors, large air cored inductors and ceramic wire-round resistors to offer superior power handling and clarity.
Consequently, and in common with the speakers, the centre-channel systems exhibit an impedance curve free from low values and extreme phase angles, presenting an easy load for amplifiers of 75 to 300 watts.
Compatibility
This centre is a good match with ATC SCM7, SCM11 and with C1 subwoofer both visually and acoustically. It employs a high quality cabinet construction, braced for high rigidity and damping.
