Description
With the Trinnov Altitude AL48 Extension Unit you can create a cinema-style professional Dolby Atmos system in the home. Both consumer and professional Dolby Atmos soundtracks can be decoded and played with a high-count speaker system. Moreover, the performance is calibrated by using Trinnov’s exclusive optimizer technology. The AL48 is designed to extend the Trinnov Altitude AL32 base Unit.
48 outputs are now available
The Trinnov Altitude AL32 is a high-end AV processor that can decode Dolby Atmos soundtracks and send the output to individual Amplifiers for driving multiple speakers. The amplifiers can be configured in bridge mode for more power.
There are 32 analogue outputs as well as an additional 16 outputs that can be fed to another decoder such as the Trinnov Altitude AL48 Extension Unit. This adds a further 16 channels of output.
What is Dolby Atmos and 24.1.10?
Dolby Atmos was first used in cinemas and is now available in the home. However, most domestic systems cannot drive the same number of speakers as professional systems. Notably, the combination of the Trinnov Altitude AL48 Extension Unit and the Altitude AL32 base unit can drive up to 34 speakers or more. A 24.1.10 system has 24 floor-mounted speakers as well as 10 overhead. There is also a centre channel and up to 7 subwoofers.
What is DTS:X Pro
DTS:X Pro is a rival to Dolby Atmos and few processors can decode the full count of 30.2 Channels. However, the Trinnov Altitude AL32 base unit along with the AL48 Extension unit can. This delivers the highest special resolution with DTS:X content.
Dolby Atmos encoding
Dolby Atmos is created by using individual sound objects that can be panned in 3D space. The Trinnov Altitude AL32 base Unit can decode the full implementation of the Dolby Atmos codec.
Trinnov developed their own software to do this. The Trinnov Altitude AL32 base unit can also decode DTS:X Pro soundtracks.
Now, with the Trinnov Altitude AL48 Extension Unit you can add even more versatility to the system. Moreover, Trinnov provides an app that can be used to view the location and movement of sound objects in real-time.
Trinnov optimizer technology
Trinnov optimizer technology is used in studios and high-end home cinema systems around the world. The technology uses a monitoring microphone to adjust the crossover for each speaker and there are now 64 optimizer channels with the addition of the Trinnov Altitude AL48 Extension Unit.
This makes it the perfect combination to drive large amounts of active speakers. The additional channels also allow for calibrating as many subwoofers as needed.
