Description
Thorens’ TAB1600 Absorber Base is specially designed to improve the installation of a turntable for maximised sound quality. It’s unique design and build prevent vibrations and other interferences from altering the turntables playback.
Construction
It’s constructed of a MDF base plate, which is additionally attenuated by a layer of fabric, and combined with an acoustic foam in sandwich construction. This unique combination separates the turntable from the ground, or whatever it is placed upon, to help prevent acoustic feedback, or in Layman’s terms the vibrations that ricochet back up to the turntable.
Performance
Acoustic feedback can cause the he turntable to vibrate, which isn’t productive for the accuracy of the needle tracking or even rotations of the vinyl record. The same kinds of principles are applied to studio monitors, home-cinema speakers and even guitar amplifiers.
