Description
Sennheiser HD800S headphones are the improved version of the extremely popular HD800 headphones and delivers a wider frequency range, deeper bass and an overall more detailed sound that is perfect for audiophiles.
Sennheiser Range
The HD800S headphones are an improved version of Sennheiser's extremely popular ‘flagship’ HD800 headphones; only one model sits above these, the £54k HE-1.
Extended Frequency Range
Sennhesier’s HD800S includes an acoustical absorber, like the one found in Sennheiser's IE800 earphones, to provide an extended frequency response with fewer "peaks" to result in a more natural sound throughout the frequency range.
Deeper Bass
The bass has been extended to resolve the issue of ‘weak bass’ that was found in comments on the HD800. The HD800S’ now have a deeper bass extension to stand up to the higher-grade competitors.
Dampening Chassis
A vibration damping chassis and an inert headband insert is featured to provide better stability so that you get exactly what the drivers deliver without losing anything due to resonance and weak structural design. Each transducer is measured to the tightest tolerance to achieve the most dependable performance.
Headphone Connection
There is a variety cables included so you can connect to almost everything, and cable is impedance-matched with ultra-low capacitance. Cables included are:
- ¼-inch stereo jack for devices such as headphone amplifiers, DACs, and A/V receivers.
- Balanced 4.4mm connector for newer generation output devices (headphone amps, digital audio players) that benifit from the plug’s superior stability.
A balanced XLR-4 cable is available but sold separately for other ranges of audio components.
New Black Design
Unlike the HD800, the HD800S are completely black with silver accents on the cups, rather than being silver.
