Description
The QED Performance Optical Ultra High-Speed Certified HDMI Cable has been designed to offer the best possible transfer speed over longer runs. This HDMI cable is capable of speeds of 48Gb/s at 10K@120Hz and carrying uncompressed data at 8K@60Hz for up to twenty meters.
The hybrid design uses optical fibre to prevent signal loss and meets the latest fire regulations for wall installations. Lastly, the cable is fully certified to carry HDR and WCG signals.
Hybrid cable design
At high data rates, copper cabling can no longer reliably transfer the video signal. Crosstalk issues can degrade the signal where it can no longer be decoded without degradation. As a result, QED has developed a hybrid design where the majority of the run uses optical fibre cable. The plugs at each end contain a circuit that converts the signal to light pulses and back again to copper at the other end.
QED HDMI Certification
The QED Performance Optical Ultra High-Speed Certified HDMI Cable has been certified by an HDMI Forum Authorized Testing Centre. This guarantees that it can be used over long runs and has the Ultra High-Speed Certification Program logo. Additionally, the cable has low levels of electromagnetic emissions to prevent interference with other equipment.
Reaction to fire certification
Wall installations are no problem with the QED Performance Optical Ultra High-Speed Certified HDMI Cable. The cable is fully fire safety certified to the latest EN 50575:2014 regulations. Notably, the halogen jacket is low in smoke and the internal components resist fire. The regulations cover any cables used for construction in the UK.
HDR compatible
There are two recent video technologies that the QED Performance Optical Ultra High-Speed HDMI cable is certified to carry. That is HDR and WCG. HDR stands for High Dynamic range and increases the contrast and brightness range of the picture. Additionally, WCG stands for Wide Colour Gamut and increases the number of colours that can be displayed.
High data rates
The QED Performance Optical Ultra High-Speed HDMI cable can carry video data at 48Gb/s 10K@120Hz and uncompressed video at 8K@60Hz. Long cable runs from 7.5 to 20 metres are no problem. This makes the cable ideal for multiroom installations. QED has a long history of cable manufacture and design and are one of the leaders in the field.
