Description

The Pro-Ject Debut Reference 10 Turntable represents the latest evolution of a series that revolutionised analogue audio by making high-quality vinyl playback accessible to music lovers worldwide. Building on decades of engineering expertise, this premium model elevates the Debut concept with refined materials, advanced construction and precision components throughout.

From its hand-painted MDF chassis to its diamond-cut aluminium detailing, every element is crafted to combine timeless aesthetics with uncompromising performance. Designed and handmade in Europe, it invites you to slow down and reconnect with your record collection. Whether rediscovering classic albums or exploring new pressings, the Debut Reference 10 delivers stability, clarity and musical engagement that honours the true spirit of analogue excellence.

10” Carbon-Aluminium Tonearm Precision

At the heart of the Pro-Ject Debut Reference 10 Turntable lies a sophisticated 10-inch one-piece carbon-aluminium sandwich tonearm. The outer carbon fibre layer provides exceptional rigidity for precise stylus tracking, while the internal aluminium tube effectively dampens unwanted resonances.

This hybrid construction ensures minimal distortion and highly accurate groove retrieval. The tonearm features premium bearings, high-purity copper internal wiring and a TPE-damped aluminium counterweight for superior vibration control. Fully adjustable VTA and azimuth allow meticulous cartridge alignment, ensuring optimal performance with the pre-adjusted Pick it PRO Balanced moving magnet cartridge.

With an effective arm length of 254mm and adaptive anti-skating, the design delivers stable tracking, detailed sound reproduction and refined channel balance across the entire record surface.

Diamond-Cut Aluminium & Premium Build Quality

Attention to detail defines the Pro-Ject Debut Reference 10 Turntable. CNC-machined aluminium components are finished using a precise diamond-cut process, creating clean edges and a refined, modern aesthetic. By utilising solid aluminium rather than plastic parts, Pro-Ject ensures long-term durability and acoustic integrity. The newly designed zero-tolerance bearing block and aluminium tonearm flange further enhance structural precision.

The 8-layer hand-painted MDF chassis provides mass and rigidity, while the height-adjustable TPE-damped aluminium feet isolate the turntable from external vibrations. A removable acrylic dust cover and included Record Puck E add practical refinement. The overall construction is engineered to minimise resonance and maximise performance, ensuring your vinyl playback remains stable, accurate and visually striking.

Acrylic Platter & Aluminium Sub-Platter Performance

The Debut Reference 10 features a 300mm acoustically inert acrylic main platter with a satinised surface, designed to match the impedance of vinyl records for natural sound reproduction. Unlike metal platters, acrylic allows records to be placed directly on the surface without additional mats, eliminating unwanted resonance. Beneath it, a diamond-cut aluminium sub-platter adds mass and improves rotational accuracy compared to conventional plastic designs.

The high-precision stainless steel axle runs within a bronze bushing bearing for smooth, low-friction performance. This enhanced mass and tighter production tolerance improve short-term speed stability, reducing wow and flutter to ±0.16% at 33 RPM. The result is quieter backgrounds, improved pitch accuracy and a more controlled, refined listening experience.

Precision Motor Control & Speed Stability

Speed accuracy is critical for faithful vinyl reproduction, and the Pro-Ject Debut Reference 10 Turntable excels in this area. A precision DC-driven AC generator powers the 18V synchronous motor, creating a clean, stable sine wave for consistent rotation. Electronic speed control allows effortless switching between 33 and 45 RPM at the push of a button, with optional 78 RPM capability via the included round belt.

The improved motor suspension system effectively isolates vibrations from the chassis, preventing interference with the cartridge. This sophisticated design delivers enhanced torque, reduced speed drift and stable playback under varying conditions. With a signal-to-noise ratio of 68dB and minimal power consumption, the system ensures quiet, consistent and accurate musical performance.

True Balanced Connectivity & Upgrade Potential

The included Pick it PRO Balanced cartridge enables true balanced signal transmission via the integrated mini-XLR balanced output, significantly reducing noise and interference. When paired with compatible Pro-Ject balanced phono stages, the turntable unlocks its full potential for cleaner, more dynamic sound. A premium semi-symmetrical phono cable with gold-plated RCA connectors is supplied for high-quality single-ended operation.

For further refinement, users can upgrade with Pro-Ject’s Power Box S3 Phono, providing advanced DC filtration and power stability for both turntable and phono stage. Measuring 462 x 145 x 345mm and weighing 6kg, the Debut Reference 10 combines compact elegance with advanced engineering, delivering a truly premium analogue experience in every detail.
