The 82 DAC QXR has all the features of the original Cyrus 8A, with the addition of five digital inputs and a USB port. This model has similar features to the Cyrus 6 DAC but with 2 x 70W per channel rather than 2 x 40W per channel, for a more powerful performance.

The 82 DAC QXR Integrated Amplifier + DAC is Cyrus' highest performing DAC with a full set of digital and analogue inputs allowing you to connect virtually any source and output directly to your speakers. This unit is built with many carefully tuned components, with a distinctive circuit layout, ensuring a transparent ‘window’ to the audio, revealing layers of detail and intricacy in the audio signal that weaker amplifiers would miss.

This amplifier has six analogue inputs, and it is also top-class headphone amplifier, Zone 2 and pre amplifier outputs give you the flexibility for connecting a large range of audio devices. Plus, a PSX R2 port allows off-board power supply connectivity.

This unit has been designed for usability, and simplicity, and it is supplied with a remote control. This amplifier can output 138mW per channel into 16 ohm loads so it can easily drive headphones with impedances up to 64 ohm. The bi-wire output gives 88 Watts into 6 ohms to power even the most demanding speakers. To ensure the quality, the power supply has a high current structure with twin transformers to completely isolate the digital control stages from the highly sensitive audio signals.

The 82 DAC is fitted with premium grade 38/786k DAC with optical and coaxial inputs and a driver less USB connection that supports up to ‘Native’ DSD 512 formats for plug and play connectivity to a PC or laptop. The ESS DAC has asynchronous upsampling for superior audio transfer irrespective of the source. The Toslink and digital S/PDIF inputs are ‘reclocked’ to reduce any potential noisy ‘jitter’ for improved audio to the pre-amp stage.
