After listening to Mendelssohn’s wonderful octet, we have a unique opportunity to listen to the audio differences between a variety of stereo mic setups. You can compare valve to transistor mics and the audio differences between digital recording at 24–192 vs analogue ½" master tape recorded at 30 IPS.
We have even used our binaural head – which sounds great on headphones!
