Description
Luxman CL-1000 Valve Pre-amplifier showcases Luxman’s expertise in vacuum tube audio. The flagship vacuum tube control amp, successor to the classic C-1000 released in 1975, connects seamlessly with Luxman’s MQ-300 vacuum tube stereo power amp for the perfect combination.
Volume Control
The CL1000 uses Luxman’s acclaimed LECUA (Luxman Electronically Controlled Ultimate Transformer Attenuator) attenuator system, basically as advanced volume control system so you can achieve rich, detailed and uncompromising sound, even at low volume. This advanced volume control is a 34-step rotary switch that triggers 34 relays located totally outside the signal path, which activate 34 taps on matching left and right transformers, it’s these taps that adjust the volume in carefully calibrated steps.
Rigid Chassis
To prevent vibrations from affecting the vacuum from working inappropriately, the Cl-1000 is housed in an extremely rigid box chassis reinforced by internal partitions. For added protection, brackets and special rubber dampers are used to isolate circuit boards from the main chassis for a nuanced music reproduction.
Circuit Build
Luxman have used advanced design techniques to achieve extremely low noise, reliability, attractive dynamics and a densely detailed midrange. Such circuit designs include a two-stage P-K NF amplification process, super permalloy core transformers, a JJ Electronic E88CC dual triode vacuum tube and an output stage incorporates a second E88CC and independent left/right super permalloy output transformers.
Phono Preamp
Luxman CL-1000 has a built in audiophile grade phono preamp so you can connect it directly to a turntable, with support for both Moving Magnet and Moving Coil. Six-position switches on the rear panel enable you to optimize impedance and capacitance.
Stable Power Supply
This pre-amplifier has a highly stable, extremely potent power supply with a large power transformer plus independent left- and right-channel filter capacitors to provide immediate power with instant dynamic response and excellent left/right separation.
