Description
The Gold Note PH-1000 Phono Stage represents the full expression of the PH-1000 platform and sits above the PH-1000 Lite in both specification and flexibility. While the Lite model delivers exceptional core performance, the PH-1000 expands capability with additional gain range, external load options, infinite EQ curves with four fully customisable presets, and broader modular upgrade potential.
Designed and manufactured in Italy, it is conceived as a reference component for uncompromising analogue systems and professional applications alike. With enhanced adjustability and advanced functionality, it offers deeper cartridge optimisation and greater system integration, elevating vinyl replay to a level that redefines what is possible from a dedicated phono preamplifier.
Fully Analogue Architecture with Intelligent Control
Despite its sophisticated feature set, the PH-1000 maintains a strictly analogue audio path. All signal processing is handled by discrete Class A circuitry, ensuring minimal signal degradation and exceptionally low noise. The digital display and proprietary firmware interface operate independently from the audio circuitry, preserving complete analogue purity.
Control is managed via the Single Knob Control system and colour display, enabling ultra-precise adjustments to gain, loading, capacitance and equalisation in real time, even during playback. With firmware update capability via computer, the PH-1000 remains future-ready. The result is a high-gain, ultra-low noise phono stage engineered to extract the smallest detail while maintaining natural tonal balance and dynamic integrity.
Infinite Equalisation and Curve Precision
A defining advantage over the Lite model is the inclusion of an infinite number of EQ curves, alongside 18 standard curves, each with an Enhanced option. Four manually adjustable presets allow users to fine-tune equalisation parameters to match specific pressings or archival material.
Drawing inspiration from professional cutting lathe technology, the PH-1000 ensures historically accurate playback across a vast range of recording standards, including RIAA and numerous label-specific curves. This flexibility enables exact tonal reproduction, restoring the intended balance and dynamics of each record.
By offering extensive curve customisation within a fully analogue framework, the PH-1000 provides unprecedented control for collectors, archivists and demanding audiophiles.
Comprehensive Gain, Load and Input Flexibility
The PH-1000 delivers 14 gain levels, extending from 40 dB for moving magnet cartridges up to 65 dB for moving coil designs, surpassing the range available in the Lite version. Twelve load options for RCA and eight for XLR inputs ensure accurate matching with virtually any cartridge, while seven capacitance selections optimise MM performance.
Three primary phono inputs are provided as standard: two unbalanced RCA and one balanced XLR, with additional RCA and XLR inputs available for external loading or line stage integration in the PH-1000 LINE variant. This extensive adjustability allows precise cartridge synergy and effortless switching between multiple tonearms.
Advanced Control and Listening Features
Beyond cartridge matching, the PH-1000 offers a suite of professional listening tools. Mono and stereo modes include phase inversion options, alongside channel swapping and a selectable 10 Hz infrasonic filter at 36 dB per octave. A dedicated headphone output provides a direct signal path from vinyl to headphones, preserving clarity and immediacy.
Both balanced and unbalanced Class A outputs deliver up to 2.5 Vrms, with carefully controlled output impedance for broad compatibility. The inclusion of an infrared receiver supports multifunction remote control operation. Together, these features position the PH-1000 as a comprehensive analogue control centre for the most advanced vinyl systems.
Modular Expansion and Reference Build Quality
Constructed from precision-machined aluminium and supported by a dual mono linear power supply with auto-sensing voltage, the PH-1000 is built to the highest production standards. For further enhancement, it can be partnered with the external PSU-1250 or PSU-1000 power supplies, and optional TUBE-1012 or TUBE-1006 valve stages for increased dimensionality and tonal character.
Measuring 430 mm wide and weighing 12 kg, it combines substantial build with refined engineering. The Gold Note PH-1000 Phono Stage stands as the definitive statement within the range, delivering maximum versatility, technical precision and musical realism for the most demanding analogue enthusiasts.
