Description
The Gold Note Mediterraneo Turntable is a celebration of Italian artistry and analogue excellence, combining visual beauty with technical perfection to create a truly captivating musical instrument. Inspired by Italy’s rich cultural heritage, it stands as an ode to vinyl and to those who value craftsmanship as much as sound quality.
Every element of the Mediterraneo reflects a dedication to precision engineering and aesthetic harmony. Designed not simply as a record player but as a statement piece, it blends tradition and innovation in equal measure. The result is a turntable that delivers authentic, emotionally engaging playback while elevating the visual presence of any high-end audio system with its sculptural form and refined materials.
Catenary Plinth and Noble Materials
At the heart of the Gold Note Mediterraneo Turntable is its distinctive 60mm curved plinth, shaped according to the Catenary curve—a structural concept refined during the Renaissance by Michelangelo Buonarroti and Galileo Galilei. Crafted from premium Italian walnut hardwood, the chassis benefits from exceptional elasticity, density and strength.
This noble material provides natural resonance control while contributing warmth and character to the design. The triple-layer structure is reinforced with a 20mm polished acrylic board and a 3mm stainless steel plate, enhancing damping performance and structural rigidity. Resting on three elegantly machined, height-adjustable anodised aluminium spikes, the plinth achieves optimal isolation, ensuring stability and precision during playback.
Precision Platter and Advanced Bearing System
The 45mm high-density POM platter is engineered for stability and vibration control, offering impressive mass and precision. Its belt-driven design ensures smooth, consistent rotation while preserving musical detail and dynamics. The extended 80mm bearing and spindle assembly is crafted from hardened, rectified carbon steel, delivering exceptional fluidity and long-term durability.
The bronze bearing housing and tungsten 5mm ball bearing further enhance smooth rotation and reduce mechanical noise. Combined with the Split-Spindle™ clamping system, the platter maintains perfect contact with the record, minimising resonance and maximising detail retrieval. This meticulous mechanical design ensures that every nuance engraved in the vinyl groove is faithfully preserved.
Sophisticated Motor and Power Control
Driving the Gold Note Mediterraneo Turntable is a high-torque 12V synchronous motor powered by a proprietary control system built around a Quadral-Core microcontroller enhanced with an audio-grade converter. This advanced system reconstructs the AC waveform to deliver perfectly stable energy to the motor, eliminating vibrations and improving torque consistency.
Electronic speed selection allows seamless switching between 33â…“rpm and 45rpm, with fine pitch adjustment for absolute accuracy. All settings are stored in memory for repeatable precision. With wow and flutter at just 0.1% and rumble at -80dB, the Mediterraneo ensures quiet operation and remarkable speed stability, resulting in a dynamic, detailed and immersive analogue experience.
Integrated Tonearm Performance
The Gold Note Mediterraneo Turntable is supplied with the acclaimed Gold Note B-7 Ceramic tonearm, designed for exceptional tracking precision and signal integrity. Featuring ceramic bearings and advanced engineering, it offers ultra-smooth movement and minimal friction for accurate cartridge performance. Its geometry and build quality allow it to extract remarkable detail and tonal nuance from every record.
Internal high-quality wiring preserves signal purity from cartridge to phono stage. Please note that while product images may show a cartridge installed for demonstration purposes, the cartridge is available separately unless otherwise specified. This flexibility allows users to choose the cartridge that best complements their listening preferences and system configuration.
Refined Details and Complete Package
Completing the design is a transparent acrylic dust cover with hinges, protecting the mechanism while preserving the turntable’s elegant appearance. Powered by the dedicated PST-1 18V DC power supply with universal 100–240V compatibility, the Mediterraneo operates efficiently with a maximum consumption of 27W.
Measuring 470mm wide and weighing 20kg net, it combines visual presence with mechanical authority. Every element—from the noble walnut plinth to the precision motor control—works in harmony to deliver refined dynamics, deep soundstaging and natural tonal balance. The Gold Note Mediterraneo Turntable is more than a source component; it is a beautifully engineered instrument created to honour the enduring magic of vinyl.
